RV Park Sites vs Squarespace for an RV park website.
Squarespace makes the best-looking do-it-yourself sites of any builder. That is its strength and its trap for a park: a beautiful site that does not answer the questions a guest with a 40-foot rig is asking.
THE SHORT ANSWER
Squarespace is a polished builder with strong templates, about $16 to $27 a month for a business site billed yearly. It is a fine choice for a photo-led park with someone on staff who will maintain it. It does not include campground reservations, its templates are built for portfolios and shops rather than parks, and it cannot be fully exported. RV Park Sites is $85 a month, built for your kind of park, connected to your booking system, maintained by us, and owned by you.
What Squarespace is
Squarespace is a hosted website builder known for design. Its templates are cleaner than any competitor's and its editor keeps you from making a site ugly. As of this writing, plans run from about $16 a month for a personal site to about $23 for business and $27 to $49 for commerce, billed yearly. It includes hosting, a free domain for the first year on annual plans, and basic search tools. Squarespace Scheduling, formerly Acuity, handles appointments.
Where Squarespace works for a park
- A destination park that sells with photos. If your park is the point of the trip and you have strong photography, Squarespace templates show it well.
- Someone on staff owns the site. A manager who updates the blog and swaps the seasonal photos will keep a Squarespace site looking current.
- A cabin or glamping operation. Squarespace's commerce and scheduling tools fit a small number of high-value units better than a 200-site RV park.
Where Squarespace falls short for a park
- No campground reservations. Squarespace Scheduling books appointments, not sites by rig length and season. You will link out to Campspot, RoverPass, Firefly, or Newbook, and the handoff between the pretty site and the platform page is where guests drop.
- Templates assume a different business. They are built for photographers, restaurants, and shops. Site lengths, hookups, pull-through versus back-in, dump station, pet rules, and the road in are not what the templates are laid out to say, so owners bury them or leave them out.
- Limited export. Squarespace exports pages and blog posts to a WordPress XML file, but not the design, the galleries, or most blocks. Leaving means rebuilding.
- Search needs the same judgment as anywhere. The tools are fine. Knowing that a roadside park needs the highway and exit in the title, and that thin pages for every nearby town now hurt, is not in the box.
- Speed is good, not great. Better than Wix on a phone, heavier than a hand-built page.
What the real cost looks like
A Squarespace business plan is about $23 a month, $276 a year, plus the domain after year one. Then the time. Squarespace sites look current only when someone keeps them current, and at a park that person has a season to run. The site that was gorgeous in March shows March's rates in August.
Ours is $85 a month with no build fee, and the monthly is the point: hosting, security, changes when you send them, the booking connection kept working, and a person who answers the phone. You own the site and the domain.
What you get with us that Squarespace cannot sell you
- Pages built around what a camper is deciding. Distance to the entrance for a gateway park, site length and hookups for a big-rig park, monthly rates and what is included for a long-term park.
- The booking system connected and kept working. Whatever platform you use.
- The park map, drawn and printed, in the Listings + Reviews band.
- Listings and reviews handled monthly, which is where the map ranking comes from.
- Ownership. Site, source code, domain, content. All yours.
When to choose Squarespace anyway
A small, photogenic park with a manager who likes the site and a booking platform that guests already know can run on Squarespace for years. If you move to us later, we rebuild from your text and photos and move the domain. The blog export helps if you have written a lot.

Questions about Squarespace for RV parks.
Is Squarespace good for a campground website?
It is good for a photo-led park with someone to maintain it. It does not handle campground reservations, its templates are built for other businesses, and only the text exports if you leave. Parks that want the site built for how campers decide, and kept current, usually do better with a service.
Can Squarespace connect to my reservation system?
You can link to your Campspot, RoverPass, Firefly, or Newbook page, or embed a widget where the platform provides one. You maintain the connection. We connect it as part of the build.
What happens to my Squarespace site if I switch to RV Park Sites?
We rebuild from your content and photos, move the domain to the new site, and your Squarespace subscription lapses. Blog posts can be exported and imported.
How much does an RV park website cost on Squarespace?
About $16 to $27 a month on a yearly plan plus your time. RV Park Sites is $85 a month with the build, maintenance, booking connection, and search setup included.
On Squarespace and it looks great but does not book?
That is the usual story. Send us the address and we will show you what a guest is missing.
