What questions should I ask an RV park web designer?
Twelve questions. The answers matter less than whether they are specific, because vagueness at the quote stage becomes vagueness in month four.
SHORT ANSWER
Ask about ownership (domain, content, files), cost (total first year, everything in), content (who writes it, what you supply), timeline (launch date and what delays it), changes (how submitted, how fast, what costs extra), park-specific work (site map, rig lengths, structured data), booking (how it connects to your platform), and exit (what you keep if you leave). Get the answers in writing. A company that will not commit in writing before you pay will not commit after.
The twelve questions
- What is my total cost for the first twelve months, including everything?
- Is the domain registered in my name?
- Do I own the content, the photos, and the site files?
- Who writes the page content, and what do I need to supply?
- When will it launch, and what typically causes delays?
- How do I request a change after launch, and how long does it take?
- What changes cost extra?
- How will you handle the park site map?
- How does the booking button connect to my reservation system?
- Will the site have structured data so we show up in map results and AI answers?
- Can I see two live park sites you built?
- What do I keep if I cancel?
The answers that should worry you
- "We'll figure out the domain later." Get it in your name first.
- "Unlimited edits" with no detail on how or how fast.
- "Just send us your content" with no interview. The site will not launch.
- "We can add SEO later" as the answer to the structured data question. Different things.
- A portfolio of images rather than live URLs you can open.
- Any price quoted before they have looked at your current site.
The one question people forget
"What do I keep if I cancel?" Ask it first, not last. It is not an adversarial question, it is a test of how the company thinks about the relationship. A good answer is immediate and specific. A bad one is a pause.
Ask us these too
Our answers: $1,020 first year, all in, no setup fee. Domain in your name. You own everything. We interview you and write it. Two to four weeks to launch, delayed mainly by photos. Changes by email or text, live within a couple of days, nothing extra. We draw the site map. Booking hands off to your existing platform. Structured data is in the base build. Two live sites are on our work page. Cancel any month and you keep the domain, the content, and the site.

What is the most important question to ask a web designer?
Who owns the domain. Everything else is recoverable; a domain held by someone else is not.
Should I get answers in writing?
Yes. Email is fine. A company that will not put the basics in writing before payment will not be clearer afterwards.
How long should a campground website take to build?
Two to six weeks. Longer usually means waiting on photos or content from the park, not on the builder.
Is it rude to ask what happens if I cancel?
No. It is a normal business question and the speed of the answer tells you a lot.
Want this handled for your park?
We build and run websites for RV parks and campgrounds, and nothing else. Websites from $85 a month, SEO from $250.
