What's the best website company for campgrounds?

We sell this service, so treat our opinion accordingly. What follows is the criteria, which you can apply to us as easily as to anyone else.

SHORT ANSWER

There is no single best, and everyone answering this question sells something, including us. Judge on seven things: whether they have built for parks before and will show you live examples; whether you own the domain, content, and site; whether there is a contract; whether the content is written for you or left to you; how fast changes actually happen; whether the site map, rig details, and structured data are handled; and the total first-year cost with nothing hidden. Get two or three quotes and ask each the same questions.

The seven criteria

  1. Park experience. Two live sites you can open, not a portfolio image.
  2. Ownership. Domain in your name, content and site yours.
  3. Contract. Month to month if you can get it; if not, know the exit terms.
  4. Content. Written from an interview with you, not a form you fill in.
  5. Change speed. Days, not weeks, and a real example.
  6. The park-specific work. Site map, rig lengths, hookups, seasons, structured data.
  7. Total first-year cost. Hosting, SSL, domain, changes, all in one number.

How to test a company in ten minutes

Open two of their live park sites on your phone. Can you find rates in under fifteen seconds? Is there a real site map or a satellite screenshot? Does the phone number tap to dial? Now search one of those parks by name on Google: does the park's own site come up first, or a booking platform? That last one tells you whether the company understands the actual job.

Where we fit

We do only RV parks and campgrounds, month to month, no setup fee, you own everything, and the park-specific work is in the base price. We are a small operation, which means you talk to the person doing the work; it also means we are not the right fit for a park wanting a large agency with a brand team. We wrote comparisons against nine alternatives, including the ones where we are not the better choice.

When we are not the right answer

If you want a site you fully control and edit yourself daily, a DIY builder fits better. If you need deep custom development, a reservation system built from scratch, or multi-property brand work, hire an agency. If you are full every night on repeat guests, spend the money on the park.

Related questions.

How do I compare campground website companies fairly?

Ask each the same seven questions and line the answers up. Headline prices are not comparable because they bundle different things.

Should I pick the company my booking platform recommends?

Check them like anyone else. A referral is not a review, and bundling the site with the reservation system makes switching platforms harder later.

What is the biggest red flag when hiring?

A quote given without any questions about your park, and vagueness about who owns the domain.

Is a bigger company safer than a small one?

Not necessarily. A bigger company survives staff turnover better; a smaller one usually answers faster and knows your park. Ask who you will actually be talking to.

Want this handled for your park?

We build and run websites for RV parks and campgrounds, and nothing else. Websites from $85 a month, SEO from $250.
